Global Satellite Communications Provider

Shipping communications products and parts ranging from residential, commercial, to government can be a daunting task. Supporting some of the most technological satellite communications across the globe requires 24 hour parts and support. Because of the critical nature of the customer’s environment they chose to partner with Walz Label and Mailing Systems and the RVSS (Rotating Volume Scanner System). When preparing large freight shipments, the majority of the shipments are wrapped using a material handling piece of equipment called a pallet wrapper. When the pallet wrapper rotates, the RVSS scanner captures the dimensions, weights, and images of the large freight. The measurements are used in determining the best LTL or TL freight carrier and method of shipment. The data is also used to help negotiate freight rates moving forward with their existing carriers, or to compare other carriers when contract negotiations begin. The RVSS is unique in its ability to be used with a rotating base on pallet wrapping systems, or on a rotating arm allowing for extreme measurement ranges for large freight. The SICK laser scanners used in the RVSS provide the most accurate measurements regardless of the locations lighting, or the color of the material that is being measured. If you have a unique project requiring data collection for dimensions and weights, turn to the experts at Walz Label and Mailing System. From small product measurements to all varieties of large freight, we have a solution that can help.
